ABC’s Appraiser’s Business Companion (registered trademark in 2014), is a Texas based company that was established in 2008 (ABC’s Appraisal Management Company, PLLC. ABC is not an AMC). The partners, Bobby Crisp and Frank Baker, are both Certified Residential Appraisers in the State of Texas, and both are VA, FHA/HUD, and Fannie Mae approved.
Bobby Crisp, Owner/Partner
Bobby Crisp is the owner of Crisp Appraisal Service, located in San Antonio, and has been appraising real estate since 1992. He is a Certified Residential Appraiser in the State of Texas. He is an AQB Certified USPAP Instructor (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) and has taught a variety of qualifying and continuing education appraisal courses, as well as making presentations at national appraisal conventions and to local lenders, underwriters, Realtors and agents since 2000. He has co-authored appraisal courses and has published many articles regarding issues appraisers face regarding USPAP, FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, USDA, Federal Credit Unions, and others.
He has been appointed by the Texas Appraiser Licensing & Certification Board (TALCB) to be an investigative appraiser to the TALCB Peer Investigative Committee. Mr. Crisp was also appointed by TALCB to serve as a mentor for the TALCB Mentorship Program and has served on the Mentorship Program since its inception.
He is one of the founding members of the National Association of Appraisers (MNAA), and has served on the Board of Directors for the NAA as well.
He is one of the founding members of the Association of Texas Appraisers (ATA), designation ATA-R, where he is currently serving as the Chairman of the Board. He served the ATA as its President from August 2007-2008 and again from August 2014-2015.
He is an approved FHA appraiser on the Lender Selection Roster and is an approved VA Fee Panel Appraiser. He is a member of the Texas Association of Realtors (TAR), National Association of Realtors (NAR), Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC), and has been a member of several appraisal organizations. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Western States University. Mr. Crisp is married with three children and five grandchildren.
Frank Baker, Owner/Partner
Frank Baker is the owner of Frank Baker Appraisal Service, LLC, located in New Braunfels, Texas (northeast of San Antonio), and has been appraising real estate since 2000. He is a Certified Residential Appraiser in the State of Texas as well as a licensed real estate agent in Texas with Keller Williams Heritage Realty.
He is a charter member of the Association of Texas Appraisers (ATA), designation ATA-R, where he served on the Board of Directors for six years. He is also a member of the National Association of Appraisers (MNAA), the Texas Association of Realtors (TAR), and the National Association of Realtors (NAR). He is an approved FHA appraiser on the Lender Selection Roster and is an approved VA Fee Panel Appraiser.
He is also owner of Baker Real Estate Investments, Baker-Washburn Construction, and Baker and Sons Enterprises. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Stephen F. Austin State University (Nacogdoches, Texas), with a major in Finance and a minor in Management. Mr. Baker is married with two children.
Diana Jacob, Consultant
Diana Jacob resides in Lafayette, Louisiana and has been involved in real property appraisal since the latter part of the 1980’s. She is an AQB Certified USPAP Instructor and currently holds a State General Certification in the States of NC and TX, and a Residential Licensed Certification in her home state of Louisiana. She has taught a variety of both qualifying and continuing education appraisal courses across the United States. She assisted in the original development of the 15-Hour USPAP Course mandated to be attended by all licensed and certified real property appraisers. While serving on the original Ad Hoc Committee and later on the first Education Council of The Appraisal Foundation (ECAFS), she drafted the operating procedures of ECAFS. She is well known as a prominent appraisal instructor and author, beginning with Financial Analysis of Income Producing Properties in 1990. She has authored more than 25 formal publications, including papers, course curriculum, and texts.
She was formerly a Board of Director with the Association of Texas Appraisers and their TAFAC representative at The Appraisal Foundation. Diana has three children and eight grandchildren.
